Romania’s Brasov signs 15 mln euro contract for PV park

December 15 (SeeNews) – The authorities of the Romanian city of Brasov said they signed with a consortium of companies a contract worth 75 million lei ($16.5 million/15.1 million euro) for the construction of a 20 MW photovoltaic (PV) park.

The PV park will comprise 30,770 PV panels and will cover 90% of the municipality’s energy needs for schools, public buildings and lighting, the city hall said in a press release on Thursday.

The project will be implemented by a consortium led by local construction company Synergy Construct, which also includes Turkish solar energy equipment supplier Else Enerji Anonim Sirketi, local land surveyor Graphein Topo, and local companies ZOORK and Eds Electric.

The consortium will have 120 days to complete the project, including 30 days for the design stage.

Part of the project’s cost is covered through European non-reimbursable funding, through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program (POIM).
